Toyota Supra RZ-S, called 21 Aug 2026.
Published before the hammer on 21 Aug 2026 and graded against what the car actually made. The thesis below is the one that went up, unedited.
A 1996 Supra RZ-S running on Collecting Cars out of Thomastown, Victoria — black over black, a Japan-delivered import complied in 2004, showing 262,022 kilometres indicated and not warranted, and critically a four-speed automatic. Modified with an HKS Drager exhaust, front-mount intercooler, TRD-style bonnet and Series 2 headlights, with touch-up paint, rust on the hatch and no documented service history. Priced against the $95,000 library value, which describes a six-speed manual RZ at 110,000 kilometres: the automatic transmission and the kilometres at nearly two and a half times the expected baseline are both beyond what the hierarchy prices, and both are stated judgement overlays. The automatic is the largest single discount on an A80 at auction. The modifications forfeit the unmodified-2JZ credit and the condition notes sit on top. Predicted hammer $40,000 to $50,000, midpoint $45,000. Closes on or about 27 August.
The call is a prediction of one hammer. The record behind it is the Australian evidence for the model as a whole, and it carries its own grade for how much of that evidence exists.
