What CarQuant is, what it is not, and the limits of what it can tell you.

Last updated August 2026

CarQuant provides general information and research about motor vehicles. It is not personal advice, and it does not take into account your objectives, financial situation or needs.

Nothing on this site is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any vehicle.

CarQuant is not licensed to provide financial product advice and does not do so. A motor vehicle is not a financial product, and the scores, ratings and projections on this site are not a substitute for advice from a licensed financial adviser, accountant or other professional.

If you are considering a vehicle purchase as part of an investment strategy, seek advice from someone licensed to give it, having regard to your own circumstances.

The figures on this site are model outputs, not valuations. They are not prepared by a certified valuer, they are not an inspection of any particular vehicle, and they must not be relied upon for insurance, finance, taxation, family law, probate or any other purpose requiring a formal valuation.

A vehicle report describes a model and a variant in general terms. It says nothing about the condition, history, authenticity or legal status of any individual car.

A listing report does assess one advertised car, but it does so from the advertisement, its photographs and whatever else the seller has published. It is not an inspection, nobody from CarQuant has seen the vehicle, and it is not a substitute for a physical pre-purchase inspection by a qualified person.

CarQuant scores are generated from incomplete data. Some vehicle values are calibrated against recorded auction results; many are modelled estimates, and each report states which it is. Population figures, sales volumes and days-on-market are estimates and may be materially inaccurate.

The model cannot see condition, service history, accident damage, odometer accuracy, matching numbers, compliance status or provenance. Headline auction results driven by provenance are excluded where identified, but exclusions may be imperfect.

Replicas, tributes and rebodied cars are excluded from every valuation in this library. That matters most for Australian muscle cars, where tribute cars are an openly traded part of the market and can be visually indistinguishable from genuine examples. A CarQuant value always assumes a genuine, original car, so verifying authenticity before purchase is your responsibility and no figure here substitutes for it.

Scores are relative to a price band and are a summary of model inputs. They are not a forecast of return.

Historical price movement shown on this site does not indicate future performance. Collector vehicle markets are cyclical, illiquid and sentiment-driven. Values that rose sharply can and do fall, and several segments covered by this site have declined materially from prior peaks.

Before buying, selling or holding any vehicle you must conduct your own inspection and verification. That includes a professional pre-purchase inspection, a written title and encumbrance check, verification of identification numbers and compliance, review of service records, and independent confirmation of market value.

Do not rely on CarQuant as the basis of a purchase decision.

Vehicle ownership involves running costs, depreciation risk and the risk of losing part or all of your capital. Costs shown on this site are estimates and exclude finance costs, storage, restoration, unforeseen mechanical failure and transaction costs beyond those stated.

You alone bear the consequences of your decisions.
